Dubai has more social media agencies than metro stations, and most of them will show you the same pitch deck: pretty grids, follower promises and a management fee. If you are a founder or marketing head trying to choose, this guide gives you the questions that actually separate a growth partner from a posting service. It is the same standard we hold ourselves to at Media Kingdoms.
1. Ask what happens before the first post
A serious agency audits before it creates. If the proposal jumps straight to “12 posts per month,” you are buying decoration. Look for a structured audit of your profile, competitors and audience, red flags called out honestly, and a phased strategy with timelines. If they cannot tell you what is broken, they cannot fix it.
2. Demand shoot systems, not content promises
The difference between agencies that deliver and agencies that apologise is almost always production logistics. Ask exactly how content gets made: who scripts it, who shoots it, how many pieces per session. A planned shoot-day system – one 6-hour session producing 15–20 reels – means your feed never depends on anyone’s mood. Ad-hoc shooting means gaps, and gaps kill momentum.
3. Check what “results” means in the report
Followers can be bought for the price of a coffee, so any agency selling follower counts is selling air. The metrics that pay rent are reach among your target city, saves and shares, profile visits, and above all enquiries – DMs, WhatsApp messages and form fills. Ask to see a sample monthly report. If it is a screenshot collage, walk away.
4. Insist on organic-first, ads-second
Paid ads work – as amplification of content that already earns attention. If the strategy is ads-first, you are renting reach that disappears the day you stop paying. The order should be: organic engine first, then paid amplification tracked on cost per enquiry.
5. Know who actually runs your account
In many agencies the founder sells and an intern executes. Ask who writes your strategy, who you talk to each month, and how fast they reply. A dedicated strategist plus a real production team – and a reply-time standard measured in hours, not days – is the minimum for a Dubai-speed market.
6. Local proof beats global logos
Dubai audiences behave differently – bilingual feeds, seasonal rhythms around Ramadan and summer, and a market where trust moves on WhatsApp. Ask for UAE work specifically. Our own portfolio spans retail, education and hospitality across the Emirates, from Sephora to Zayed University – see it on our work page.
